Classmate Profiles

Sixty Plus years since we graduated!
Please create or update your biography.

Tell classmates about yourself! Click on "Add Your Profile" and fill out the form so that we have up-to-date contact information. You may also wish to add a short bio about what you've been up to the last 50 years. It's a great way to "reacquaint" ourselves with one another.  Please note that there is a limit of 220 words - about 22 lines.

It's recommended that you not share upcoming vacation dates, day & month of your birth, financial information and other sensitive information on the internet.

Important: Your contact information will not be posted on the site (however, others will be able to send you an email if you include your email address in the setup information of your profile).

Some ideas when writing: Did you attend college/where? What do/did you do for a living? What kinds of things do you like to do for fun? Have you done any traveling? Any other thoughts/memories would be great too.

Don't forget to add a recent picture (can be individual, with significant other, family, etc.)! We will upload your yearbook picture for the "then" picture, but if you would prefer to use an alternative picture, you may do so as well. Just click "Edit Entry."

"Reflections"

Our paths began as a blank page to be written on by experience. Our parents and friends escorted us down the path that curved and rose and fell shaping the person we are today. Like the proverbial moss we gathered acquaintances and life longfriends to traveldown our mutual paths. Each footway had epiphanous moments perhaps changing our path.
A pivotal event in our lives was graduation from our twelve years of education - from there we looked toward the future with hopes and dreams. Within this set of reflections are some of examples of how these dreams manifested themselves into fruition. Stories, memories, education, family, activism, etc. all of that brought us to here pondering is that all there is?

Hello, Everyone.

Is this a blast from the past, or what?

Not long after I graduated, I found myself in an Army uniform.  Selective Service was very aggressive in them days. That all came to a happy ending, even the Viet Nam part.

I maintain a vibrant life in the consulting business.  My wife and I have 2 children and 7 grandchildren. THEY are THE reason for everything.  I'm sure every grandparent will say the same thing.

In 1960 I was not known as a social entity.  But, I do remember some of the pictures and some of the names.  It's a very strange feeling... like time travel I suppose.

So, here I sit with my music, computers and fishing boat.

Good luck and good fortune to you all

The past 50 years in a nutshell.

From 1960 thru 1972, I served 4 years in the US Air Force, attended and graduated from the US Army Infantry Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning serving 5 additional years in the Army reserves, graduated from the U of M in geology (I was far from studious in high school), married in 1967, divorced in 1972.

In 1974, I married my present wife (Mary) of 36 years, and we have 3 wonderful daughters, all college graduates.  Holly graduated from St. Cloud State University with a degree in Bio-Medical Science and is working for MN-Tech.  She plans to work for a degree in nursing and then for a nurse anesthetist.  Vicki majored in Anthropology from the University of Minnesota and is at the U working toward a teaching certificate.  Jessie majored in Physics at St. Thomas and is working for 3M.  We are proud grandparents of 3 boys and 1 girl.  Holly and the 4 grandkids are living with us for the next couple of years.  My wife, Mary, is an assistant librarian at the middle school.

I worked as a geologist for Twin City Testing and Soil Exploration Co. from 1974 to 1979.  I was the on-site geologist/quality control officer during the construction of the 3M plant in Norfolk, Nebraska from March 1974 to September 1975. From September 1975 to August 1976, I was the on-site geologist/quality control officer during the construction of the U.S. Army Reserve Armory in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.  From August 1976 to March 1977, I was the company's branch manager in Appleton, Wisconsin.  From March 1977 to April 1979, I was the company's branch manager in Mankato, Minnesota.  Then, from April 1979 to to January 2007, I worked for the Minnesota DNR, Division of Waters as a Senior Hydrologist until I retired.  Then in 2008 and 2009, I received 2 new knees - now I feel like a kid again!

I enjoy hunting, fishing, fossil collecting, collecting antique fishing lures, building model airplanes, flying radio controlled airplanes, camping, hiking, biking and walking the dog.  My wife also says I enjoy collecting all kinds of crap!  But I'm happy.  See you at the 50th.

It is amazing how fast time flies by when one looks back. It sure is easier to get older than wiser. After high school I attend the U of M & then Augsburg College graduating in 1965. Following graduation I went on a 6 week motorcycle trip with Dick McCormick (RHS 1960). I have  been married for 43 years, have 3 daughters, & 7 grandchildren. Oldest daughter is in Atlanta, Ga with 4 children, 2 of which are adopted from China. Middle daughter is in NW IA & has 2 children. Youngest daughter is in Cedar Rapids, IA with 1 daughter. Have had a difficult time accepting 2 children living in IA. Grandchildren range in age from 15 yrs to 4 months. I am currently employed at Mayo Clinic & have been for 28 years; 21 with the addictions program & 7 with our adult psychiatric inpatient program. I plan to retire in a couple of years. My wife works part-time with the Rochester school dist. We have lived in Rochester, MN since 1969. Activities I enjoy include: biking, hiking, snowshoeing, non-competitive pistol shooting, playing hockey with my 2 oldest grandkids (15 & 13), tennis, camping & other activities Most enjoyable activity is being with & playing with grandchildren. Have been involved with Prison Fellowship many years. In addition, I have been collecting Wheaties boxes & memorabilia for over 20 years & have an extensive collection. God has richly blessed me over the years.

I have been maried to Joe Dudziak for over 54 years.  We have two children (boy and girl) and four granddaughters.  In 2015 we downsized from 6 acres in Corcoran to a townhome in Chanhassen.  Quite an adjustment!  We have been slower to adapt than I would have liked, but are coming to enjoy living closer to things, including our children.  My main hobby is quilting which I do every chance I get.

Hi all!  Can't believe that 50 years have gone by.  I'm not ready to grow up just yet.  My wife and I live in Elizabeth Colorado where we enjoy our 13 (and counting) grandchildren, 1 great granchild, biking, skiing, camping, motorcycle riding and church activities.  I'm a semi-retired engineer (BME from U of M and MSME from NYU) working 2-3 days a week, watching FOX news and getting steamed over our inept government the rest of the time.  We get back to MN a couple of times a year to visit family.  Been doing a lot of work around the house (play house for the grandbabies, finishing the basement, building a new chicken coop, etc.).  Rode the RAGBRAI this year and it was a lot of fun.  Hope to get to a NASCAR race before winter sets in.  All the best!

After graduation, I spent my freshman year at Hamline University. Tired of academia, I decided to join the work force.  In 1964 I married an Army lieutenant and moved to Germany.  What a wonderful culture shock!  Thus began my sojourn of moving to various Posts in the States plus two different tours in Deutschland.
The marriage produced two beautiful daughters & four adorable grandsons (13, 5, 3  & 18 mos.). When I married "Custer", if one were not a nurse or teacher, it was considered beneath his rank to work.  Therefore, I became a professional volunteer (Officers Wives' Club, Girl Scouts, PTA's, etc.). During the second tour in Germany in 1981, I decided to return to college. In 1986, I finally graduated Magna Cum Laude from Barat College, Lake Forest, Il.  In 1992, after 28 years of marriage, "Custer" and I divorced.  I kept the house in Highland Park.
In 2006 I married a handsome Italian, eight years my junior.  I guess that makes me a 'cougar'!  In 2008 we purchased our dream retirement home in Fountain Hills, AZ. Unfortunately, Michael suffered a profound stroke last July at the age of 59.  We are currently working on his complete recovery.
My interests include:  motorcycling; golf; water color and oil painting; antiques; traveling; dancing; and politics.

As I turn 80 (as will all of us this year, 2022) my days as an athlete are over. But performing music is still a very important part of my life. It has kept me feeing younger mentally, but the physical toll has made it difficult to play long gigs deep into the night. So I'm hosting an open mic jam at the Apple Valley Legion every Monday night, 6:30 - 10:30 PM. Called the "Apple Jam" it features five local top professionals in our house/host band. We will play a 30 minute set and then become the backing band for jammers of all ages, all talent levels. it's a fun night of music, comraderie and dancing. Stop out if you can, this has become one of the best jams in the Metro.

WEBSITE: www.acebarton.com. Graduated from the U of M in 1965; lived out East for 4 years while employed by General Foods, Corp. Moved back to the Cities in 1969 and started/ran three marketing and marketing communications firms until retiring in 2003. One of my business highlights was being a principal player in the launching and subsequent expansion of the highly successful Healthy Choice food franchise as a marketing consultant to Con Agra Foods, Inc. In 1964, I married my lovely high school sweetie, my wife of 58 years, Joan Carlson, RHS '62, and we raised three boys and  have two granddaughters. Bryan, our youngest Son (50) is a world renown musician in the electronic/dance genre, under the stage name of Bryan Black and Black Asteroid. In 1990 I invested heavily and became a marketing consultant in a somewhat risky new business - riverboat gambling along the Gulf Coast (Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc). Thankfully, the concept flourished and we sold our positions in 1997. Then it became "what do I do now" since making money was no longer a want or a need. So 16 years ago I dusted off my tenor sax and began working on an unfinished chapter in my life - my music. The THEN photo is a 1959 gig photo with Mike Waggoner and the Bops. The NOW photo is a gig pic taken at Famous Dave's Blues Club in Minneapolis. Joan and I exercise, go out some, and enjoy leisurely R & R time together!. My longtime car hobby now involves a 2021 Audi S5 and a 2017 665 HP custom Camaro I've named "Ferocious".

I hope everyone is enjoying the "fruits of retirement" and living life to the fullest! - whatever interest/hobby that might be. I have found that with music, nobody cares about your age; if you can play - then you play! If can't, you don't get invited. All of the bands I play with or gigs I get invited to sit in on could care less about my age. It's my  bright, edgy, growling, soulful, throwback sax tone they want - nothing else matters! Looking forward to seeing everyone in September!
